Join us for training in the art of scruitineering. Scrutineers play a crucial role in the votes counts that take place in the weeks after the election. Scruitineers can either challenge votes in close contests or sampling preferences to give us a preliminary sense of how our candidates might fare as counts progress. Low-stakes scruitineering opportunities occur on election night at the close of ballots at local booths, with more high stakes contexts occuring in the week or two after the election in business hours at a central Melbourne location
This training targets people who are planning to scruitneer in high-stakes contexts and will cover both sampling and challenging votes. Scruitineering is a great way to contribute to getting Greens elected and - as this training will show - is nothing to be scared of!
