When fuel prices first started going up, the Greens made public transport free for a month, now we have the opportunity to make public transport free for good. It's time to get out and let locals know the power of the Greens. The Greens will make public transport free and frequent. We’ll run more services with no need to tap on, saving you money and creating the world-class service Victorians deserve. So lets get out there and let everyone know! Come along for a relaxed campaign night to help us win Footscray and Western Metro in the State Election this year! Campaign nights are where we get things done together and have a yarn while we’re at it. We’ll be doing practical campaign work like volunteer recruitment calls, doorknocking prep, and data entry. No experience needed, we’ll run through everything together and provide training :)  If you’ve got a laptop and phone you can bring along that’s a big help, but absolutely not essential. Let us know in advance if you need us to bring a spare laptop for you. Dinner will be provided. WHAT IT IS: Want to have an impact this Victorian election? Conversations can shift the dial. Learn the skills you need to have persuasive, political conversations out in the community. We're running a Greens Doorknocking School across Melbourne, so you can learn how to have effective conversations on the doors in the lead up to the November State Election! Come along to your nearest training day (or whichever one best suits your schedule). You only need to attend one session to get the training you need to start doorknocking. WHO IT'S FOR: This is for both brand new AND existing Greens volunteers! All Doorknocking School sessions have two streams of content, to cater to all skill levels. No matter where you’re at, this training will help you get started, or level up your persuasive skills. WHAT TO EXPECT: When you arrive we'll do some introductions, break into streams (beginner if you've done less than 5 doorknocks, intermediate/advanced if you've done more!) and do some training based on your experience level. As part of the trainings we'll have lots of time for questions and disucssion, and do lots of practice.We'll do a quick briefing on doorknock logistics, then everyone will head out in pairs (an experienced person and a new person will be buddied up) for 1.5 hours of testing all the training out on the doors! While out knocking you'll be taking notes about the conversations you have, reading through the script/key talking points between doors, and debriefing the conversations with your partner. If it's your first time knocking and you're not yet feeling confident about having conversations, you can observe and help take notes instead! When we come back we'll have lunch and do a big debrief, before talking through the next steps on your doorknocking journey with the Greens 👀WHAT TO BRING:  Just yourself (plus sunscreen and/or raincoat! We knock rain or shine). Everything else will be provided on the day, including lunch.
