Something new is happening across northern Victoria.

Candidates across the region are coming together to show what solidarity in action looks like. Each of us picks a day, decides what we want to do, and the rest show up and work on their patch.

First up, Grace Verney's Shepparton.

How the day runs

10am. Meet up and cuppa (optional brunch). We kick off with a cuppa at SAM, right next to Victoria Park Lake. We will get to know each other and make groups for letterboxing.

11am. Letterboxing!! We will break off into groups, where Grace will have Grace will have everything ready to go.

1pm. Park picnic, Calls/Letterboxing. Picnic in the park next to SAM or bring your own lunch. Some group members travelling from out of town have opted to continue letterboxing, however anyone who is feeling up to it is welcome to join the group for some calls regarding yard signs and volunteering. 

3:45pm. The pub. Meet at the Terminus Hotel, 212 High St. Buy your own. Stay as long as you can, have a chat, get to know other volunteers and Grace!

Come for all of it or pick your bits. Tick what suits in the form and nobody will chase you about the rest.

Never done this before? Most people coming haven't. If you can walk a footpath and read a letterbox number, you're qualified.

Getting there

Meet at SAM next to Victoria Park Lake. Plenty of parking, and you'll want your car for the afternoon.

Coming by train? Shepparton station is the terminus of the V/Line from Southern Cross, about two and a half hours. Happy to pick you up, just tick the box and tell us your arrival time.

Bring: a hat, water, comfortable shoes and sunscreen.

Making a weekend of it? There's a second day of action on Sunday 4 October in Echuca with Zoe Cook. A few of us are camping between the two. Tick the box and we'll sort you out.

One heads up: daylight saving starts at 2am on Sunday. If you're staying over, you lose an hour.
