Day two, on the Murray.

Candidates across northern Victoria are coming together to show what solidarity in action looks like. Each of us picks a day, decides what we want to do, and the rest show up and work on their patch. Saturday was Grace Verney's Shepparton. Sunday is Zoe Cook's Echuca.

How the day runs

9 am. Calls and maps. Cuppa first, then we split into two jobs. Some of us get on the phones to volunteers, the rest cut up maps for the afternoon. Take your pick. Nobody's made to do the phones.

10:45am. Brunch. Sit down together and have a feed.

11:30am. Out on the road. Letterboxing in teams around Echuca, dropping yard signs along the way. You'll be paired up (on request) and shown what to do. 

1:30pm. Down to the Port. We finish at the Star Hotel on Murray Esplanade, opposite the old wharf. Buy your own. Sit outside, look at the river, and enjoy having done something useful with your Sunday.

Come for all of it or pick your bits. Tick what suits in the form and nobody will chase you about the rest.

Never done this before? Most people coming haven't. If you can walk a footpath and read a letterbox number, you're qualified.

Getting there

We'll send the meeting address to everyone who RSVPs. By road Echuca is about two and a half hours from Melbourne. By train it's V/Line via Bendigo, and we're happy to pick you up from the station, just tick the box and tell us your arrival time.

Bring: hat, water, comfortable shoes, sunscreen.

One heads up: daylight saving starts at 2am this morning. Set your clock forward or you'll turn up an hour late, and if you camped Saturday night you've lost an hour's sleep.

Missed Saturday? Doesn't matter at all. Come to this one.
